Medical update---10/17/16  Dixie did have cherry eye--this is just some tissue bulging from the eyelid--very common and only cosmetic---she did have this repaired and there is no long term issues or special care with this----

Meet Dixie.  She was an owner turn in as the other dogs in the home were supposedly picking on her.  She craves attention and love but is a little shy at first.  We think she was only exposed to other dogs and not much human interaction.  She is house and crate trained and does well on a leash.  She is not a typical JRT mix as she is not hyper, not an excessive barker and is very eager to please.She gets along with all the dogs here in foster care and does enjoy playing with those her size.  Her new family will need to spend time with her on her social skills and be patient and loving with her.  Please fill out our application online so we can contact you to talk more about this adorable little girl.

~~All of our dogs are spayed/ neutered before adoption. Adult dogs have had their core vaccines; parvo, distemper, bordatella, rabies, and puppies have had a series of four vaccines.  All dogs are tested and are heartworm negative.  In addition they have been de-wormed and kept on heartworm prevention and flea prevention while in foster care. All  dogs come with a micro-chip already implanted. Adoption fees range from 175.00-235.00 depending on the dog. Many times the adoption fee does not even cover the cost of all of the vetting we have done for a dog.  Our dogs are all fostered in private homes at various locations; We do not have a facility.  WE ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR GOOD FOSTER HOMES. YOU MIGHT EVEN WANT TO CONSIDER FOSTERING A DOG YOU ARE INTERESTED IN.  Contact leeselman@comcast for more info on fostering.   Please contact the person listed in the bio for more information on a particular dog.
