~~Sunny D is a cute little bugger, and we mean little!  At just over one year old he clocks in around 13 pounds.  He will probably round out at about 15.  It certainly doesn’t stop him from keeping up with the big dogs!  We are guessing there is some Whippet in there, as he is long and lean.  He looks to also be mixed with Dachshund and Beagle for a total package of cuteness!!  He likes to run around the yard, and even better if there is a ball to chase.  He likes having running contests with his foster brother who is 55#.  He comes when called, as fast as he can. And loves to greet you and show you how happy he is.
 
Sunny exhibits no food or toy aggression and is a dream to walk on a leash.  If his tags didn’t jingle, we would forget there was a pup on the other end of the lead!  He has no interest in destroying or chewing on human items, but does enjoy his puppy toys.  Since coming up north, he has not had any accidents in the house at all!  When it is time to quiet down in the evening he wants nothing more than to sit near you on the couch, preferable touching you.  He can be a cuddle monster.  We do a potty break at bed time and then he goes right into his crate like a good boy.
 
His foster home does have two kitty residents and Sunny found that it is fun to chase them.  If your home has a kitty that is on the quiet, skittish side I wouldn’t recommend adding Sunny to the mix, but a more confident cat could probably handle him as he adapted over time. 
 
Sunny is calm, but a little scared in the car. This doesn’t stop him from going on adventures!  He is pictured in a stream during a small hike we took him on during his first week in CT.  I think he will continue to come out of his shell and be a fearless sidekick to his new family.
 
Sunny was able to play at a small picnic at his foster house and the human kids loved him.  He was very good with the children and would make a wonderful furry best friend for a lucky kiddo.  Please fill out an application today to add some Sunny sunshine to your life.  You won’t regret bringing this wonderful pup into your home!

All of our dogs are spayed/ neutered before adoption. Adult dogs have had their core vaccines---parvo, distemper, bordatella, and rabies, Puppies have had a series of four vaccines All dogs are tested and are heartworm negative.  In addition they have been de-wormed and kept on heartworm prevention and flea prevention while in foster care. Most dogs come with a micro-chip already implanted. Adoption fees range from 125.00-235.00 depending on the dog. Many times the adoption fee does not even cover the cost of all of the vetting we have done for a dog.  Our dogs are all fostered in private homes-we have no facility--WE ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR GOOD FOSTER HOMES--YOU MIGHT EVEN WANT TO CONSIDER FOSTERING A DOG YOU ARE INTERESTED IN.  Contact leeselman@comcast for more info on fostering Please contact the person listed in the bio for more information on a particular dog.
